A discussion of the book Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel S. F. Heller.
Attached is about understanding the three different attachment styles - anxious, avoidant, and secure. With the anxious people usually being anxious about the state of the relationship, the avoidant people usually avoiding the relationship when things get too close, and the secure being those who are stably committed to the wellbeing of the other. The book covers a number of real world cases, examples, and studies to explore how people act when attached to a partner in a romantic relationship. It tries to help you understand your attachment style, as well as the attachment styles of others, with the note that often based on our attachment style, we act in remarkably predetermined ways. It also tries to help one understand the constructive and destructive patterns that play out in the various attachment styles, as well as when those attachment styles interact.
